Shipping & Returns

payment policies

We accepts payment in the form of checks, money orders, PayPal and credit card. If you haven’t used PayPal before, it’s safe, easy, fast and free. You can sign up at www.paypal.com.

Payment on all instock orders is due prior to shipping. For custom orders, we require payment in full before any work can begin. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but due to the labor-intensive nature of our products, we are unable to begin work without payment.

Your knit item will be custom made for you after you place your order. Because of the time involved in creating, knitting and properly blocking your item, your order will probably take approximately 2 weeks to complete. Sometimes we are faster than that, and I will do everything I can to get your order to you as quickly as possible.

shipping policies

I really love shipping by USPS priority mail.  It's quick, and the [ost office provides secure mailers so there's no hidden costs to the customer for shipping and packaging supplies.  USPS offers free e-delivery confirmation with Priority Mail as well, so there's the additional security of being able to track your package.  We do not insist on insurance for packages under $50 with priority mail because it's generally very reliable.  However, we will only replace an item if the delivery tracking shows that the item has not been delivered.

Some customers prefer first class mail, especially if they are just ordering one item. To accommodate our customers, we offer first class shipping as an option However, please be aware that in this case, we will not be responsible for packages once they are in the postal system.  We strongly encourage mail insurance to protect both ourselves and our customers.

We love having happy customers on every continent. If you are outside the US, we prefer shipping via USPS Global Priority. You will only be charged for actual shipping. Insurance is required on international orders.

return/exchange policies

I want my customers to be completely happy with their Little Turtle Knits products. I hope you will contact me in the event you have a problem after receiving your order, although problems to date have been extremely few. Because we are a custom order business, and a very small one at that, it is difficult for us to accept exchanges or refunds if you change your mind. No returns will be accepted without prior authorization (via email) from me. Once a custom order is begun, there will be a percentage-based labor fee if you change your mind for any reason. Please ask us before ordering if you have any questions to avoid disappointment when your order arrives. As a custom design, custom order business, we will try to work out any problems you have, at our discretion. But please respect our position as a small work at home mama business.

We cannot accept returns or offer exchanges on items that have been used, washed and/or worn. We also cannot accept returns or exchanges on patterns.

Our primary goal at Little Turtle is to have happy customers, so please let us know how we can assist you.

If you have any questions, please contact me. I welcome any suggestions you have about this site and improvements you would like to see.

The free knitting patterns on this site are for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any further use requires my explicit permission. This means if you wish to use them for charity, group projects, teaching, or anything other than to knit for yourself or a gift, you must write me to ask permission. (I'm quite agreeable, I just like to know what you're up to with my patterns.)

Regarding images and hotlinking: unless you ask permission, it's not permitted.If you're using a pattern for a knit-along or somesuch, then please write to ask permission, and it'll be fine with me as long as it isn't eating my badnwidth. Once it starts using excessive bandwidth, it's not okay. So just ask, okay?Tif you hotlink or upload a copy of the image to your own server, you mustinclude a link back to this website so people know where it came from. If I catch you hotlinking or using graphics without permission, I will change the image to something that you won't want on your website, I promise ;)
