Ice Princess Sock Pattern

This pattern was originally released in our January '09 Sock Club.

Deep in midwinter, and all around there's frost on my windows, a sprinkling of ice glittering on the grass, and the blissful quiet of frozen days.  January is my favorite month for knitting.The holiday sand the frenzy to finish are past, and all that awaits are long evenings snuggled by a fire with teapot nearby and knitting needles in hand.

The lace in these socks reflects the view out my window - frost patterns etching the glass, looking perfectly intricate and lovely.  But it's actually quite easy! A simple four-row repeat produces this exquisite lace. A mitered short row heel for minimum intrusion on the lace pattern, and a star toe complete this sock that will remind you of these magical frosty days long after the ice has melted and the daffodils begin to bloom.
