the
ultimate wool ball

This
is the sixth in our line of quick-to-knit
patterns (and definitely the quickest!) Knit these fun wool balls
for the kids or pets in your life. These are a great way to use
up the odd bits of yarn left when you complete a project, and
they can be worked on a variety of needle sizes to produce balls
of different size. DK or worsted weight worked on size 6 needles
will produce a hacky-sack sized ball, while the same yarn worked
on size 10 needles will produce a softball sized ball, or you
can then felt it to make a dense thick ball, perfect for teething
babies (and dogs!) Dh's young cousins love to play hackey sack
with these balls (fill them with lentils or rice for the perfect
hackey-sack.)
This
pattern is available on it's own, or in a kit with our very special
handpainted yarns. The kit comes with enough yarn to complete
at least three wool balls, as well as the pattern and jingle bells
if you wish to have musical balls.
Of
course, pattern comes complete with clear concise instructions,
as well as an appendix that details any techniques that may be
new or confusing at all. This pattern is definitely a great beginner's
project. Would also be a great project to do with your Girl Scouts
or Boy Scouts troop!

smocked frock
**NEW**
|
This
pattern is for a comfy party frock. It's perfect for frolicking
in the summer sun, or for Easter with a long sleeved tee
underneath. The skirt is easily shaped without any disruptive
increases, so that the lines will be clean and flowing.
The skirt's a-line is achieved through the use of progressively
larger needles, giving a looser gauge as you move down
the skirt. The smocking on top is a very simple and easily
memorized stitch.

I
think the sweater vest is one of the most versatile pieces
of a kid's wardrobe. With jeans and a tee shirt, it's
the perfect layer to add for a day frolicking at the park.
With khakis and a collared shirt, it's ideal for church
on Sunday. Dressed up or dressed down, this vest pattern
is sure to be a great addition to your child's closet!
Knit in worsted weight wool (or an acrylic/cotton blend),
it's an ideal layering piece for those in-between days
when you're not sure if it'll be warm or cool. Knit up
a few in some fun spring colors, and maybe even add some
embroidery for a vest as unique as your little one.
Of
course, pattern comes complete with clear concise instructions,
as well as pictures to illustrate all details. In 8 sizes
from infant to 12, you can dress the whole brood with
this pattern! |

the easy
peasy cardigan
|
Since the debut of our Learn to Knit Kit,
we've had an overwelming number of requests for an easy
baby sweater. Well, this is it! This sweater is designed
for even a rank newbie knitter, and in worsted weight
yarn it will knit quickly. It is knit in all garter stitch
(so all you need to know how to do is the knit stitch)
and all in one piece, so there's minimal seaming to do.
This is the sweater I find myself grabbing first when
we're headed out the door for a day of errands, because
it's roomy and easy to get on and off even the most squiry
of babies. With sizes from preemie/newborn to 5T, you
can keep all the wee ones in your house warm and cozy.
Shown below in our variegated cotton yarn, with the hat
pattern that's in our Learn to Knit Kit.

course, pattern comes complete with clear concise instructions,
