This
is the kiddie version in the pic; given with the adult
version it makes great mom and daughter gifts. I did
a set like this for AJ's kindy teacher this year, she's
got a 7 month old daughter. They both LOVED their scarves!

Supplies
Needed: 1 skein of Bernat Soft Boucle
(or other comprable slubby, textured yarn)and 1 skein
of a novelty fur yarn (I prefer ChaCha or Allure) If
you're doing a Breast Cancer scarf, the Rose in the
Bernat goes very well with the Rose Quartz Allure. Size
15 or 17 needles (circular, straights, whatever you've
got)
Cast
on 14 stitches, (using the long tail method, and holding
both needles together so that the cast on is loose and
stretchy.)
Row
1-4: knit
Row
5:
[Knit 1, YO twice] repeat between [] to end of row.
Row
6:
[knit, drop two yo's] repeat between [] to end.
Essentially,
you are using the YO's to create elongated stitches
on every 5th row, so that there's some visual interest
and texture in the scarf.
Repeat
Rows 1-6 until you've got about 12-15 yards of the fun
fur left. Repeat rows 1-4, then bind off. A trick for
the bind off (because you cannot do it tight or the
scarf will pull in at the end) is to wrap the yarn around
both the needle AND your index finger when you make
the new stitch. This will keep the bind off loose and
stretchy. Weave in your ends and voila! Fun Fur Scarf!
